Testing for the Apprenticeship Program Announcement

The Southern Nevada Operating Engineers JATC will be testing for the Apprenticeship Program during the week of March 25 – 29, 2019.

  • Equipment Operator

  • Heavy Duty Repairman

  • Machinist

  • Surveyor

  • Construction Safety Inspector

  • Renewable Green Energy Inspector

  • General Construction/Building Inspector

Completed applications and copies of the required documents (see list below)

must be submitted by the following:

 

  • Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2019.

  • Hand-delivered applications must be received in our office no later than March 22, 2019

Applications are available for PICK UP on the third Thursday of

every month during business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm).

At the time of this announcement, there are two pick up dates before we test in March:

 

  • Thursday, February 21, 2019

  • Thursday, March 21, 2019

Applications may be picked up at the William C. Waggoner Training Center located at 6350 Howdy Wells Avenue, Las Vegas.  Complete applications must be returned with copies (not originals) of the following required documents:

  • Birth Certificate (Legal - State Issued) - Acceptable substitutions are U.S. Passport or proof of legal residency.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. - Acceptable substitute is High School Transcript with Graduation Date.

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID.

  • DD214 or Discharge Papers (Veterans Only)

The following is optional:

  • Proof of work experience, applicable to the program, may be presented (on company letterhead) detailing hours/years of equipment operated/work performed.  Trade school certificates or letters may also be presented.

You must make your own copies - we DO NOT make copies for you!

Note: Any required documents that are printed in a language other than English MUST be accompanied by a notarized English translation and must be provided with the completed application. 

Applicants who have already turned in a complete application (with the required documents) will receive a mailed invitation letter containing the date and time that

he or she has been assigned to take the exam.  We will begin mailing the exam invitation letters towards the end of February 2019.
